The Great Green Travel Giveaway

Sustainable Travel International (STI) has launched The Great Green Travel Giveaway, an online eco-sweepstakes.

Sponsored by Natural Habitat Adventures, the eco-sweepstakes features green travel prizes around the world.

Participants can enter the eco-sweepstakes by making a $10 online donation to STI.

Proceeds will go to support STI’s non-profit mission to promote sustainable tourism development across the globe.

Says Brian Mullis of Sustainable Travel International:

“The Great Green Travel Giveaway allows us to support our goals of promoting and educating companies and travelers about the benefits of sustainable travel…It’s an opportunity to showcase some of our member companies to the public while giving people an easy and fun way to support our mission to protect the environment, preserve cultural heritage and promote local economic development.”

Running through November 30, 2011, the eco-sweepstakes will feature new prizes every two months.  October and November prizes will include:

• A seven-night cruise for two on a luxury yacht through the Galapagos Islands donated by Ecoventura;
• A trek along Peru’s Inca Trail to Machu Picchu donated by Apumayo Expeditions and
• A stay at Nepal’s Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge within the Himalayas.

Two dozen STI members including tour operators, cruise lines, resorts and hotels will participate in the eco-sweepstakes.

Other upcoming prizes will include a Botswana safari for two by Wilderness Safaris and a stay for ten in a luxury Canadian ski chalet from Cote Nord Tremblant.
