#DTinsiderTip: Did you know that Menton boasts a microclimate making it the warmest nook of the entire French Riviera with 316 days of sunshine a year? Nestled in the embrace of a crescent moon of mountains, it keeps mistral winds at bay and shuts out the cold. Menton’s balmy climate makes its lush gardens and fruit trees flourish almost all year round. Since Menton has virtually no winter, it used to be a popular resort for the wealthy wanting to escape the cold in the late 19th and 20th century. It’s nicknamed, not surprisingly, la “perle de la France”. The most beautiful view of the city is observed from the Quai Impératrice Eugénie in the old harbour (this is the place from where this photo was taken). Also, Menton has quite a few extravagant gardens which are worth a visit! - Dame Traveler @boldbliss | France #dametraveler by dametraveler www.instagram.com/p/BAVeLORvwSe/ via scontent.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xta1/t51.2885-15/sh0.08... #Travel via http://flic.kr/p/CZy7Ya
