Håholmen has been a meeting place, home and working site for fishermen, seamen and traders throughout many centuries. One of its most famous inhabitants, Ragnar Thorseth, a great Norwegian arctic explorer, sailed around the world in the 1980’s in a boat that was a replica of an old Viking ship. Today it is a quaint, and very quiet, place to take a break from life. I remember not having cell service there (a bonus) as well thinking that this would be a great place to write a book. I got up early one morning and photographed the few old buildings in the early morning light.
