Saturday Night Live dedicated two sketches to Facebook last night — one a fake commercial for a filter to keep your mom from seeing the crazy things you do on Facebook, and the other a “Weekend Update” segment with Andy Samberg portraying founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Head Writer and “Weekend Update” anchor Seth Meyers interviewed Samberg’s Zuckerberg about The Social Network, asking whether or not it’s true that Zuck founded the company to impress a girl.
The faux commercial features Glee’s Jane Lynch, who hosted last night’s episode. The gag about a mom filter is funny, though we couldn’t help but think, “Why wouldn’t you just hide your updates from her using Facebook’s privacy features?” On the other hand, apparently only 5% of Facebook users use friend lists, so it wouldn’t be surprising if use of that feature is sparse too.
Anyway, we’ve embedded both videos here, courtesy of Hulu. Enjoy!
