The battle between Facebook Groups and Twitter Lists was close, but once again Facebook came out on top — at least for now.
Last week we asked you, the readers, to choose between Facebook Groups and Twitter Lists. Both are tools for organizing and communicating with groups of friends or associates. Lists have been around for about a year, while Facebook Groups launched last week to much fanfare.
While Facebook’s Groups feature is still in its infancy, we wanted to check the pulse of the Mashable readership to see whether you prefer the simpler, more open Twitter Lists feature or the more collaborative and friend-oriented features that make up Facebook Groups.
In the end, Facebook Groups came out on top. With 32.6% of all votes cast (439 votes, total), Groups was able to beat out the 23.8% (320 votes) that Twitter Lists garnered. A full 21.4% of you voted that both features were useful, while another 22.2% said you weren’t fans of either tools.
Many commenters pointed out that they use both Groups and Lists for different things but were divided on which tool was more useful. It’s a debate that won’t be fully answered until Groups has time to mature and its pros and cons become apparent. Meanwhile, we want to hear how you’ve been using (or why you’ve been ignoring) Lists and Groups in the comments.
